Innovations for sustainable packaging solutions – 1 to 2 July 2025 in Würzburg
On 1 and 2 July 2025, the renowned conference “Barrier Laminates – The Expert Meeting” will take place in Würzburg. Around 100 participants are expected, similar to previous years. The event is aimed at experts and decision-makers from the fields of packaging technology, production, purchasing, sales and development along the entire packaging supply chain.
The focus is on monomaterials, innovative manufacturing processes and barrier coatings on films and papers. Sustainability is also a key driver of innovation in the field of barrier films.
The following key questions are addressed:
- What new materials, including biopolymers and fibre-based materials such as paper, are available for barrier films?
- Which innovative processes, e.g. triple bubble stretching, MDO stretching and simultaneous stretching, enable recyclable monomaterials with excellent barrier properties?
- What benefits do current barrier coatings offer and when is it worth switching to alternative materials such as bioplastics or paper?
A special highlight of the event is the supporting programme on the evening before with a traditional “wine tasting” in the summery ambience of Würzburg. A cosy dinner is offered between the event days.

New this year: AI-supported simultaneous translation (German-English) as audio and with subtitles will also make the event accessible to an international audience via livestream.
