40th Inno-Talk with more than 550 participants
The PPWR is fast approaching – and 12 August 2026, at the latest, shows that time is running out. In today’s Inno‑Talk, it once again became clear how much uncertainty and information overload are affecting the industry. At the same time, concrete ways were identified in which companies can position themselves in a structured and future-proof manner.
Till Isensee (Tilisco) made it clear:
The biggest hurdles are not a lack of legislation, but rather the sheer volume of information, interpretations and constant changes. Although many companies have technical data at their disposal, they often lack the details, up-to-date information and robust processes required for comprehensive PPWR compliance. Smaller companies in particular face enormous challenges in this regard.
Benedikt Behnken (R-Cycle) then presented the digital solution: standardised data, automated workflows and open formats are the key to efficiently meeting documentation requirements. His example impressively demonstrated how a standardised data structure consisting of several components can deliver clear key figures such as recycling rates in seconds – instead of laborious Excel work.
The essence of the talk:
- PPWR is coming – and faster than many people think.
- Data organisation is a must, not optional.
- Digital tools can massively reduce the effort involved.
- Supply chain communication is becoming crucial – because manufacturers and brand owners are in the same boat.
We would like to thank all speakers and participants. The next Inno-Talk will take place on the 20th of March – this time in German and focusing on functional papers and paper-based packaging. And for those who want to dive deeper into the subject, our new Inno-Fiber conference in Osnabrück in April offers the perfect setting.
